You are surely familiar with hummus, this spread that we enjoy all year round with raw vegetables. But do you know tulip petal hummus ?
Thanks to the French company Fleurivore , all your dreams of flowery tastings can come true.
Why can we eat their flowers? All their bouquets are composed of organic flowers and plants approved for consumption. In addition, they are selected for their taste and visual qualities, in other words, they are flowers of flavors 😋
Fleurivore is the creation of Amandine and Blanche . Their mission : “fill your lives with flowers and flavors”. Their project is in the image of our generation : “ecological, atypical, zero-waste, fun and gourmet!”
Moreover, this mission inspired us enormously, we found ourselves a lot in this speech! And we wondered how we could convey this message in our own way. With the return of the sun and the sweet sound of birds in the morning, we had to celebrate spring and what better way than with a box of Oé for biodiversity !
On the practical side , don't worry! Fleurivore takes care of finding you the best recipes to taste your bouquet. When you receive your bouquet of seasonal flowers, you also receive a little gourmet recipe book full of freshness that explains how to cook your bouquet.
The recipe for hummus with tulip petals immediately made us want to, so we started! But since we are real gourmets, we also completely fell in love with the warm goat cheese salad with cloves .
On the sweet side, we also had the choice of making an orange and Tea Tree jam and one for cocktail lovers , we could use carnations as decoration - these are the pretty pink and white flowers that look like a pompom in our box for biodiversity .

Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for, here 's our version of the Fleurivore tulip hummus recipe with its Côtes du Rhône Blanc Oé .
Ingredients for 2 people (or more if you like):
- 5 to 6 tulip stems
- 1 can of cooked chickpeas (for the dry ones, you will need to soak for 12 hours and cook for 1.5 hours beforehand)
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of Tahin
- Olive oil
- 2 spices of your choice (we chose cumin and paprika
- ¼ squeezed lemon
- 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
Precautions for use : before any ingestion , remove the pistil and the stamen (heart of the flower) as shown in the photo
Preparation time: 15 mins
Rinse the tulips briefly then detach them one by one from the petals .
Peel the garlic and crush it.
For those who have chosen already cooked chickpeas , drain the water from the chickpeas and rinse them.
For the more organized who have chosen dried chickpeas , don't forget to change the soaking water for your chickpeas from time to time. Also, do not hesitate to shell your chickpeas because their skins are not as digestible as the rest of the grain.
Mix the chickpeas , tahini , lemon , garlic, a few centiliters of water and a little salt .
Then gradually add the olive oil until you get a very creamy texture .
Divide the hummus among the petals and sprinkle them with the parsley and the spices of your choice.
You can also keep a few petals and place them on your hummus as decoration ;)
