We embarked on the zero-waste adventure in 2019, when Sonia joined the Oé team. She was determined to manage the logistics department by bringing a new, more modern vision that would, above all, push us to be even more radical and aligned with our commitments.
We started small. By removing the capsule. By recycling the glassine from our labels.
And we continued with increasingly major projects, such as implementing the 100% zero-waste pallet. We also sorted and weighed our waste and set up a compost system.
A zero-waste pallet saves 125 boxes, 750 bottle caps, 35 meters of plastic wrap, and a hundred meters of tape compared to a traditional pallet. And that changes everything!
All this allowed us to reduce our warehouse waste by 25% in two years after Sonia arrived.

The figures we are proud of (from May 2022 to May 2023)
We avoided the production of 667.3kg of caps, the use of 7,537 boxes, or 972.3kg, and 27.6kg of tape. CAPS + BOXES + TAPE = 1.7 tonnes avoided.
We still have a long way to go to be truly zero waste. One of the first things to do to achieve this is to raise awareness among all our partners and support them in this change of habits. We are also, of course, trying to raise awareness among consumers.
It takes time, but that is what will help change things, to move the needle.
Switching to reuse and zero waste is far from being as obvious as it sounds. And yet, it prevents us from taking out the trash!
